ok what is the difference between ocz gold and plat? i went to there site and it said gold is for gamers with timings of 2-2-2-5 blistering i add, and then it said the plat have 2-2-2-5 so whats the big deal!!!!? am i missing something
As above, so the platinum will scale a lot better, and give tighter timings ABOVE it's rated speed.. better for overclocking in other words
well the gold gamers extreme can do 433mhz at 2-2-2-5 or something witch is good, my system is purely for gaming im not into overclocking so would the gamersexreme mem be the one to go for? how ever i wouldnt mind getting the tccd chiped based one since that runs at good speeds to and if i ever wanted to overclock i could?
yeah and the gold can hold its time of 2-2-2-5 at 3.2 volts , I have it in my new build and have used it before and its top notch
so i guess its just like gold VX then? low most ram can do 2-2-2-5 at low voltage so whats special about that? inless you mean say 270 fsb
If you're not overclocking, you'll be using the RAM at 3200 speeds, i.e. stock, so go for the cheapest RAM which says it'll do 2,2,2,5 at 3200 speeds. Why pay more for something you won't use?
yer cheers, so patriot may be good? well i decided to keep my ram here is a screeny of cpu-z what does it mean max bandwidth 200mhz pc3200 when mine is pc4400? is that normal /
it says max 200mhz cos its set to running at 200mhz at the moment by the looks of it. its running at 200mhz because your fsb is also at 200mhz (i assume) pc4400 means its capable of running at 275mhz, but it doesnt mean it will run this fast all the time by itself. if you dropped your multiplier and brought up the fsb to 275 (if your mobo can take it), then you could get your ram running at 275.
That's all very well and good Hazza, except for the fact that he's not overclocking All it means is basically the speed of your RAM.
