    gotta buncha led's on order, should arrive tomorrow, as you can see from inside shot, i've got lottsa hidden areas of the plexi in which to embed them so the eges glow nicely. i tried doing a double layer with the tinted plexi but i wasn't happy with the look. i might put some window tinting so i can have best of both worlds, tinted window and glowing edges 8) also i ordered one of those YS Tech TMD 70mm fans. I'm hoping it will fit nicely for top blowhole, if not, ill put it in my Volcano 7+. More pics coming soon, stay tuned.

    Wouldn't it be better if the alu sheet with the cut out be in the inside? Or, the cut-out sheet on the outside but the plexi is mounted inside? both ways would make the cut-out sheet and the side panel be aligned.
    Code:
    ______    _________    _______
           ================

    or

    [u]       ==[/u]==[u]=========[/u]==[u]==        [/u]

    im gonna put led's in the plexi, so the edges glow like those mouse pads. besides i really like the layered look, as i was trying to be different.

    not to be funny mate but i know the mouse mat idea and emitting light through the end of plexi but if you are wanting the plexi to light up the sun cut out!! where's the edges of the plexi lining the sun with out an end of plexi lining the sun cut out there will be know light at all :sigh:

    Re: Re: Update on my cutouts

    That's true. Unless you would have some true etches by the areas along the sun cut out, you would only shed light on the edges.

    i'm planning on just lighting up the beveled edges, prolly gonna put tinting behind the actual cutout. i'm kinda getting tired of seeing the inside of my case. I was planning on doing my drives similar, but after seeing theoldone's drive witht he printouts, i might reconsider.

    No, i didnt do those 2 cutouts, i had it done with a CNC Waterjet. For more info check out this thread. In the picture with the same cutout in the door panel, I did that one with a scrollsaw. But i decided to go this route instead. I might sell the one i did, not sure yet.

    OK, i got the blue leds temp mounted (with poster putty) Here's a few pics:
    [IMG]
    backside w/ & w/o flash

    The blue looks really nice, and of course pics dont do it justice, although it does hide the fingerprints and small hairline scratches 8/ gonna haveta polish the plexi, wasnt counting on that 8/ gonna do the reds next and see how it looks then, but im really kinda liking just the blue ones. oh and ill be tidying up the wiring 8) gonna have a plug on it so i can remove the door easily.

    That looks great UnLoadeD! Looking at that glow gives me a thought...imagine that same look, but with the plexi etched all around the cutout. Then it could glow too! :idea:

    Can't wait to see the final result.
