ive just seen in a local paper a Slot A AMD ATHLON Thunderbird 850Mhz processor, plus an MSI MK7 mobo for £100. Apparently new, only used a few times for testing. Worth the deal? Also, an ATI radeon 7000 64Mb for £50. what do you think about that?
I would say not. You can get a brand new Abit board using the latest VIA chipset and a Duron 1.1 for less than £120. Plus the athlon advertised is slot based, and thus old technology. For the extra £20 or so you have a future proof mobo too
Again, that is a definite no m8! If you are after new gear have a good look around the online overclocking stores for some good deals on some more up to date equipment!
thanks for the replys. had a lil look on ebay afte posting the thread, and yeah - its not a great deal :/ i just need something half descent so i can upgrade my Linux box.
