good deal?

    ive just seen in a local paper a Slot A AMD ATHLON Thunderbird 850Mhz processor, plus an MSI MK7 mobo for £100. Apparently new, only used a few times for testing.

    Worth the deal?

    Also, an ATI radeon 7000 64Mb for £50. what do you think about that? :eyebrow:

    I would say not. You can get a brand new Abit board using the latest VIA chipset and a Duron 1.1 for less than £120. Plus the athlon advertised is slot based, and thus old technology. For the extra £20 or so you have a future proof mobo too :)

    Hell, you can get XP1600s for a little over £50 now.

    My Radeon 7500 64MB only cost me around £50/60, and that was a few months ago (new).

    Again, that is a definite no m8! If you are after new gear have a good look around the online overclocking stores for some good deals on some more up to date equipment!;)

    thanks for the replys. had a lil look on ebay afte posting the thread, and yeah - its not a great deal :/

    i just need something half descent so i can upgrade my Linux box.
