yeah proper sound mate, they're all well 'ard Seriously though, I think it appeals to people who can relate to it more. Being down south it doesn't really look all that attractive to me because I'm guilty of taking things to granted and so trying to find Shameless 'appealing' is difficult. However, I don't think it sets out to do that, just perhaps show us what life's like for some people and add some comedy into it. I do find quite a lot of it funny, although I do think they go overboard with some of the explicit detail just for the sake of being able to. Nevertheless, it's something different eh? <A88>
I've never liked shameless, it's just... odd, and I don't find it funny Now you mention it <A88>, I know 3 of my friend's like shameless, and they all come from Newcastle, Belfast and Manchester, I don't know any local friend's that watches shameless, so I guess you could be correct in a way! Tbh, I prefer the older comedies the BBC made, such as some mother's do ave them, only fools and horses, fawlty towers and Keeping up appearances. These are the quality comedy shows, and I watch them a lot on UKTV Gold.
Well I live down South and I'm a huge Shamless fan. So I don't think where you live has anything to do with it. The writing is spot on and the storylines are fantastically ridiculous, yet strangely plausible. The thing that makes me sad though is the amount of people that don't watch it and just say "oh it's about chavs innit? I ain't no chav" riiiight. Go crawl away from me now please. Next week's is very, very wrong by the way (watched it on E4 last night).
damn forgot about the next episode on e4 after. this weeks was brilliant, a mute being tortured by "paddy's", cottaging, fixing horse racing, stealing, child birth etc. what more do you need? funny stuff
What I mean is it's much harder to relate to if you don't experience that sort of way of life. It's just natural to find things funny if you can associate with them more...but as I said, I still find it humerous and don't mean to imply than only northerners will like it, just they might find the humour and stories easier to appreciate <A88>
I'm a shameless fan, watched from episode 1 of series 1, then they repeated after the first series ended straight away due to not having much viewers at the time.
First On about a year ago, this is the second series atm, im a big fan watched just about every single episode
This is the 3rd series (series 1 & 2 are out now on DVD). They did the age old Channel 4 fantasticalness of repeating the series again at just after pub closing time on Fridays so I managed to get my then other half to watch it (much as I got him into Spaced). The 2nd Series Christmas Special got a lot of new viewers too, that was just pure brilliance. The poor 3-legged dogs!
this is the third series. and all youve to know to get it, is how to throw a paaaarrrrrrrttttttaaaaayyyy!
whichever one it is its bloody hilarious http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/media/S/shameless/shameless_frank_414x260.jpg
