Hi. I have a 1 year old 15" TFT Screen.

In the past 2hrs, 3 times it everything on the screen has turned green!
The only way I can get the screen back to normal is if I switch off the computer at the mains, and back on again. But once that did'nt work either.

I'm running an nVidia 7900GTX Dual DVI graphics card. I've changed the monitor from one port on the nVidia card to the other port, at the moment

At the moment, its back to normal!

    But, I'm worried!

Has anyone any idea why my screen is going green!

Have you got another PC you can try the screen with?

That'd isolate any problems with the graphics card etc. either that, or try another monitor on that PC :)

    Thanks for your reply.

I've been running the monitor with no problems for a year on an old PC.

This is a new PC that I'm now running the monitor on. So far it was great, until a few hours ago!

if its turning everything on the screen a tone of green then, it sounds to me like a loose wire. first i would say make sure the cables are securly fitted. and if it keeps doing it. then try replacing the cable if you can.

Are you running DVI or an analogue connection? Ensure that all the cables on both ends are secure - it sounds like a wire carrying the green channel is loose.

If you just moved it, there's a chance you damaged the cable.

If all the pins are OK like teamtd and hitman said, try "jiggling" it, sometimes the wires can snap internally. If that's the case it'll need replacing.

You guys are amazing.

Thanks. Your answers make perfect sense. Cables have now been tightened up!

Plus since I changed the ports on the Graphics Card 20minutes ago, everythings ok.

So far so good. Thanks again.

As said above its most probably just because the cable is loose ;)

Heh, that happened to me recently. Got my 6800GT, plugged it in and the screen was yellow!

I was like ahhhhhhhhh, its broke!! The problem was the DVI-VGA block, it needs to be plugged in real good. It scared me real good that

    Maybe....

Maybe it has something to do with the cables. I had a problem a little like yours, I just made some adjustments with the cables connected to the monitor like the video cable. I do not know if this helps but it somewhat made the situation better. :D
