at random intervals my pc will go a lot louder, as if loaidng some massive program, but then die. the pc will stay on, but there will be nothing actually going on on the screen if you get me :S

then i have to turn it off and turn it on again.

it tells me its becuase of this:

    C:\DOCUME~1\Matt\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER74a2.dir00\Mini092006-01.dmp
    C:\DOCUME~1\Matt\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER74a2.dir00\sysdata.xml

No, its just to see what files are causing the problem.

The dumps list the files that were in use at the time and will tell me if you are using any drivers which are known to be bad.

You're fine. The files don't contain any personally identifiable information - just a list of modules that were loaded at the time of the crash, register dumps, and the address and name of the faulting module.

arg i cannot find the files, when trying to use search it would not let me search for them,t elling me they may be located on the network or something.

i looked in temp files and the only thing there is an hp driver i dled for the printer im using, and there were millions of folders there.

make a new archive and where you get to browse for a file just type in the full filename to it.

    i.e. C:\DOCUME~1\Matt\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER74a2.dir00\sysdata.xml

thats because that is a shortened version of the path. The actual version would be:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Matt\Local Settings\Temp\WER74a2.dir00\Mini0 92006-01.dmp
    and
    C:\Documents and Settings\Matt\Local Settings\Temp\WER74a2.dir00\sysda ta.xml

that should do it, although i may have expanded it incorrectly

You need todo it as soon as you see the error, before you close the prompt.

Yea, I think that should be OK.

I think you ran a program which cleared part of your temp files. The dumps are stored elsewhere aswell.

Found it: c:\windows\minidump\ is where they are stored.

Its the only driver which I can tell may have problems.

    www.nvidia.com

Theres driver links in most places.
