    Is that watercooled?

    It would explain the 4-pin connector on the HSF, +ve, -VE, fan tach and water flow.

    You'd think putting watercooling into the hands of joe-consumer would be pretty risky. I hope the instructions clearly state "We are not responsible for damage caused by failure to install watercooling componets correctly!"

    Na, 4pin connector is on my GTX aswell. I think the extra wire regulates the fan speeds.
    Personally i dont think its watercooled, that metal bits ontop mabe some sort of tool or such. tho maybe the option of water maybe implelmemted for later models.

    12 memory chips counted, 512mb and maybe a extra 128mb for physics...or summat else. either way its about 10inches in lenght.

    Looks suitably like a prototype. I'm really looking forward to the DX10 race, though I think it'll be a shakey start with heat being a major issue.

    Nope, 768meg memory with a 348bit memory bus. It's 1.5x 256bit/512meg.

    Quotes on wattage range from 190-300W with possible additional power recommendations (like the thermaltake 5.25" psu) for the second power adapter to spread the load.

    It's all speculation still.

    Anything remotely thinking, Voodoo 6000?

    SWEET! Now lets see a quad-SLI G80! :D Good thing I have a 1000W PSU.

    Ok so from what i have learnt is that there are 2 sets of pics, the ones with the Watercooling barbs is the 8800GTX and pics without the barbs are the 8800GT

    Speeds: As i cant read Chinese, but it seems 1.4ghz on mem and 1449mhz on the core? and dymentions on the card 280X127X42mm

    Yeah saw this on a website yesterday, this is all the information it had on it.

    Description
    Earlier today some information regarding the possible specs of nVidia's upcoming G80 based boards surfaced on VR-Zone, only to be "quietly" removed later. Thankfully X-bit labs managed to collect the information on the new cards and we can now present it to you below.

    The most important aspect of the leaked documentation are the specs revealed:

    - Unified Shader Architecture;
    - Support FP16 HDR+MSAA;
    - Support GDDR4 memories;
    - Close to 700M transistors (G71 - 278M / G70 - 302M);
    - New AA mode: VCAA;
    - Core clock scalable up to 1.5GHz;
    - Shader performance: 2x Pixel/12x Vertex over G71;
    - 8 TCPs & 128 stream processors;
    - Much more efficient than traditional architecture;
    - 384-bit memory interface (256-bit+128-bit);
    - 768MB memory size (512MB+256MB)

    The unified shader architecture suggests, what the experts have been saying for a while now, that the cards will be support DX10.

    According to the same, leaked, information the G80 will surface in November in two varieties, the GeForce 8800 GTX and GeForce 8800 GT priced at a mere USD 649 and USD 449-499 respectively. The GTX model (higher-end) will feature a 384-bit memory interface, a hybrid water and air cooler and 7 TCPs while the GT will have a 320-bit memory interface, a standard air cooler, and 6 TCPs.

    No one has actually explained what TCP actually stands for although Techreport has uncovered an nVidia patent which refers to thread control processors. According to the same patent these TCPs will be used to set the function of the unified shader processors.

    EDIT: Spelling

    Look close at those water pipes. They don't go anywhere, they're just connected straight to each other. Something the INQ didn't pick up on (I'm assuming that's where you found the pics).

    So, back to some sort of ungodly Prescott-esque space heater. That thing had better *really* deliver. I think I'll hold off for.... *quite* a while.

    Doesn't seem right. There's no way they'd make watercooling a "requirement" for a PC. For staters it'd be a PITA for system builders. Saying that if this IS the reference design we'll probably see better cooling methods from other board partners

    Speeds wise, are we talking 1.4ghz DDR or 2.8ghz here? If its the latter that's a touch unrealistic, the core speed also sounds WAY WAY off. 1.4ghz DDR seems FAR to slow to feed a core running 1.4ghz too... Increasing the number of pipes, core complexity still managing to bump core speeds by 600mhz over the 7900 GTX? Either awsome engineering or bull...

    Jesus, that thing is massive, and the power requirements!!
    Unlikely it's water cooling, but maybe it's an enclosed setup? Or something like that liquid metal cooling sapphire had.

    4x300 = 1200
    Be prepared to fork out for 1.5+ KW power supply if you're ultra serious about gaming.

    Those power requirements are stupid, if they can't make it more efficient then it should not come into the mainstream.

    look a lot like a x1950 cooler, no doubt seriously loud too. will have to be to cool down something like that. even if w/c is not a requirement it may aswell be, surprised the heatsink isnt completely copper.

    i think waiting for the second wave, or at least some better cooler designs off other manufacturers.

    infact if this is what the usually low power and heat nvidia are doing i hate to think what ati's will be like.

    No, the X1950 cooler is very, very quiet. If it's anything like that I'd be happy. The x1950 is all copper.
