a while ago i saw someone using a wireless network detecter in the form of a radar on their laptop. does anyone know where i could get hold of this software ?? Thanks GB
toshiba config free has something that looks a little bit like a radar and shows you where wireless signals are coming from that you are connected to.
yes it think that might have been it, i have a toshiba laptop but i cannot find it on there, can i download it ??
Dunno can you? To get it to work on non-Toshiba laptops, the following should do the trick.. Install, reboot, then open regedit and find the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/TOSHIBA/CONFIGFREE Locate the "Instcheck" line on the right side of the screen and set VALUE to Satellite 5205 After a reboot it should magically work. hth
How do these work? Surely they're not showing you the direction of each Access Point your computer is picking up?
I wouldn't have thought so, as the APs circle around the 'radar'. So unless someone's running around with a wap in their pocket or you hear a helicopter circling overhead, no. I think they get closer to the middle depending on signal strength, but that's about it. It does look groovy though.
