Ok My girlfriend has offered to get me a 24" monitor for Xmas So I was going to get the Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP Reading the reviews it looks pretty good. But I've just seen this BenQ FP241W which looking at the specs seems good, but its £669.74 inc VAT. now is there something I'm missing or is it just a good price? other comments / advice welcome to Edit - bit-tech @ BenQ FP241W
I've just done a quick straw-poll of the office and BenQ wins it. Buy with confidence - you'll love it! PS Don't blame me if you don't - you're free to choose PPS Wish my girlfriend would offer to buy me a 24" widescreen monitor for Chrimbo PPPS Shame I'm currently single PPPPS I'm buying myself a Canon 400d SLR - who needs women?
Hahaha, so very true. All these fancy monitors look good, but I'll be sticking with my CRT until I can afford 2048*1536 via TFT...
moot point if you're plugging into a PC since both ATI and NVIDIA drivers allow you to disable scaling on all digital flat panels
The Dell looks better in my opinion, (the frame that is) and it has USB ports on the bottom instead of just the side and top. Other than that benq is the way to go.
It does look cheap, and so does the Iiyama compared to the Dells. But then they are a completely different price range. Plugging in a GC or console will look massively out-sized (but then, a 1:1 will look incredibly small). Even an Xbox or PS3 at 1080 will need stretching. Having said that it doesn't look bad in the flesh and Geoff playing FEAR on it looked pretty decent.
The Eizo's have 14bit!! colour processing! No wonder one of their 24" screens is the same price of a Dell 30". No other inputs than DVI (and VGA?) by the looks though. And that Samsung, although nice is expensive. The Dell 2407 uses the exact same TFT, but Dell packaged iirc and is only £700ish.
this is the first time iv seen so many bit-tech staff and moderators post in one thread on a single page! I thought bit-tech staff were myth's! lol!
