atanum141, is that Skyline photo you posted not a Z-Tune? In which case they're really very recent :)

I couldn't possibly choose my 5 favourite old cars, it's just too hard!

I love the 993 aswell. But I don't consider it an "old" car.. ALL of them are younger then my own car and the last productions are still less then a decade old. I've driven its predecessor, the 964, and even that one was younger then my car. My neighbour is still driving his 944. I guess the 964/944 are getting borderline "oldish", but I think this thread was more for the old classics.

Hmmm.. maybe me and my car are just getting old.. lol.

Personally I think that 20 years is getting old, especially for a porsche, and if you know anything about porsche parts they arn't cheap and a german mechanic is hard to find. I will say that the 993 isn't old though, so I'll switch it out with the porsche speedster. Also, what's not to like about the 944 tubo s!!! It's everything I love about the miata, but faster! Also, at the time it out ran the 911, 50-50 weight distribution! It's awesome!

I was raised by a man who raced porsches and has owned 3, so yes, I do love porsches. IMO it's the only sports car I'd buy, it's racy enough to have a lot of fun, but still a daily driver.

Lovah, I think 20 years is considered old, especially sense there are skylines on this thread. I'd consider a classic to be atleast 40 years old though.

    For that list
    shelby cobra
    57 bel air
shelby 350 fastback, I know not quite 40 but close
    nova
    ss with a yenko

I think the cars mentioned should be oldtimers, so 25years old or older (in Belgium).

And yeah, Porsche's are fantastic, I used to be quite the Porsche-fanatic. The overall package is quite attractive (German quality, luxury & decent performance) (911's). But they are quite big & heavy; the ass, although very sexy, is really very heavy with the engine and all. So for pure driving fun, I prefer something lighter and smaller, like an Elise (or Atom).

Still.. Porsche 911 is a legend that keeps on going.

Yeah, really in the 911 if you are being a dumbass a lot of people tend to go backwards into the woods, however I think the Cayman is well balanced. They always seem to have a car in their line up which is about 50-50, usually the at the cheaper end.

And if I'm rich enough to afford a new Porsche someday as my daily driver, I'm sure I could find a way to save up enough for an atom :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:. I love em, or a chaterham 7 with a miata engine (Westfield, LOWcost,http://www.flyinmiata.com/westfield/)

For £20k, I'm sure you could. (Although that's not the supercharged version.)

Even the "normal" versions, like the 245bhp version I had a ride in, are truly amazing. There is really no comparing to anything else. The cornering is amazing and the overal acceleration is mind-boggling. But I would not get it as a second car, next to a practical-family-vehicle.. it's just not practical enough and it will end up parked most of the time because of it. I still believe an (used) Elise is better choice in that budget-range.

But maybe that's just me! L

    #1 chill

    Ok, have you chilled out?

    #2 chevy nova

    http://people.smu.edu/acambre/nova/novadaube67/novadaube67.html

#3 Finish your first sentence... I'd like to know what it says...

As for the atom, I dunno, I guess I'm the type of guy who doesn't really see himself getting married right away. So one car for me would be fine, daily driver plenty of room to haul ****, and then the atom would be a toy, like a street bike or something to drive on nice days.

Well you wouldn't want to drive it in the pissing rain. You'd end up ever so slightly wet.

Insurance would be a slight killer on an Atom don't you think? (Not to mention that you'd probably kill yourself, too...)
