Iam thinking about geting a tablet laptop only need it for makeing notes in lectures so it doesnt need to at all powerfully plus iam on a bit of a buget any recomendations?
the best option is a second-hand HP Compaq Tablet PC TC1100 on eBay. However this model has a bit of a cult status, and you may actually be able to get a faster, but heavier HP Compaq TC4200 convertible laptop/tablet cheaper... But if you do go for the HP TC1100 series, avoid the TC1000 which come with Crusoe Transmeta CPUs. They simply can't hack it --handwriting recognition can be demanding. Instead try and get the TC1100 with the highest rating Pentium M possible (they come in 1.0, 1.1 and occasionally 1.2Ghz flavours). Very, very occasionally, and for a substantial whack of money, you can get a Motion Computing LE1600 (and only for good money. Don't believe the scams that are flying around on eBay with this model; buy from private sellers only). They are the daddy, but priced accordingly. In short: The purist: HP TC1100 tablet The practical compromise: HP TC4200 laptop/tablet convertible The big spender: Motion Computing LE1600
I've got an Acer TravelMate C300 which is a very nice laptop for how much I got it for. Bought it off eBay for £300, pretty decent spec, very good spec for the price. Only problem you will find with tablet laptops, unless it's a very good one, the battery won't last you the entire day if you have a lot of lectures. The motion computing one Nexxo recommends sounds fantastic from what I've heard/read. But unfortunately most of us don't roll around in money like he seems to be
Why not just use a pad and paper? Lecture notes are hard work on laptops (if you're doing a sciency course anyway). It's much easier to type them up later.
well toshiba's tecra series might be worthy of a look.they have got touch screen thingy that rotates folds again so the sreen can be pointed to the outside.
