I'm looking to upgrade my old Presler to either the X6800 or the QX6800 (Same Price), I'm looking for long-time usability because I won't be upgrading anytime this year. I read benches that the X6800 is faster on the current games, but I also heard that some of the games coming out this year will utilize all four cores of the QX6800. Which should I get?

QX if you're not looking to upgrade anytime soon imho. Multi-cored apps aren't far away, and this way you could run 2 dual-threaded apps happily. :)

For sure the quad for future proofing! You should see it become more useful in the years to come as things become more multi-threaded.

Another vote for the quad. It is however the QX6700 (along with other reasons this is why its raw performance isn't as good as the EX6800) BUT as soon as you start multi-tasking all of the bit-tech benchies show that is a fair way ahead and that will only increase with time passing. I will also be getting one (or the Q6600 after the price drops and OC it). Quad f.t.w

Another Vote for the Quad Core considering you can get it for the same price.
