Can anyone send me a copy of xp home or can i get it of any of my xp home computers to help fix a colleagues computer he has a tiny comp with xp home but no disks and i want to try and re-install windows over the original as it keeps failing to boot due to corrupt files. He has the serial sticker on the side so i am not after any pirate software, lets face it everybody and their granny has xp pro corporate. cheers for any info you can give me.
Most of the time COAs on pre built machines are designed to only be used with the bundled software. I don't think I've ever managed to easily convert a pre-built machine to a Retail or OEM copy of XP
You've got XP Home on your computers, but don't have a single XP Home disc? How did you get XP Home on them in the first place then Even if you bought the system(s) with the OS pre-installed, you should've received either a genuine XP Home disc, or a 'recovery' CD - which is basically the OS CD, plus any other bits the system builder adds in? As for where to find it... just go to the Ebay site, and type 'Windows XP Home' into the search box
cheers for all replies. scotland Don't think so, but will have to re check, i have a dell laptop and emachine desktop. Anyway downloaded a bittorrent that is supposed to be xp home so will see how it goes.
