Thx for support hydro! You really think that if I ground the case to the floor it will work as a Faraday Cage ? ;)

Thx for suppport polished skull! I wish I could do 5 or 10 in a row in the same time I just do 1 :D so I could send you just one :thumb: ... my dad wants one too .. for Christmas!

I try to do my best with the few tools I have.... I wish I could:
    a) use 3D-software ( I am still fighting with inventor11 ... it is not an easy job starting from scratch, I also get really tired reading the manual in english -it is so technical- ... I feel I miss so many concepts ... I need the manual in spanish ... but I am on the right path :geek:
    b) have access to a cnc? ... still a dream

Project "Tia Yu" 18 September 2007 - Need help guys!

Can anyone suggest how I can avoid dust coming in the case?

Maybe there is any material I can glue to the exterior-mesh panel (the black one) ?

Buf , it´s hard to explain what I am actually looking for ... let me try :eyebrow:
I do not want to use perspex. I am looking for "something" similar to what you use to avoid mosquitos when you sleep .....http://images.google.es/imgres?imgu...channel=s&rls=org.mozilla:es-ES:official&sa=N ... but it must work for dust, like a fan filter http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/12filfanguar.html .... but not so thick ( I mean the material inside the fan filter) ... and it should be transparent too to let you see the interior of the case...
I can´t think of anything like this...I was wondering if anyone has had that in mind before and can tell me a solution..

    Maybe something like this? http://tsifiltration.com/filtracion_tsi/mesh_polyester.html

I need to know what is the minimum diameter needed of the hole to avoid dust coming in?

Hi all, back for an update!

Next step was installing the rad in the case. There was a little problem:

The rad was sitting on the 2 nuts of the CPU-Waterblock.

    Actually there was another problem:

Too close to the MB in-outs (the grey box next to the rad) :sigh:

 I decided to cut a little rubber strip ang glue it to the plexi-stand of the rad (to those 4 ends that would be in contact with the alu case):

The rubber strip made the whole rad move a bit upwards, and so the rad did not sit on the nut of the CPU-Waterblock (problem 1 solved). I also made shorter the washer that holds the MB to the MB-tray, which helped to gain those 2mm needed to avoid problem 2.

Then I mounted the fittings on the rad and some tubing ...... this is it:

I am really satisfied with those fittings. You don´t need any clamps, so you save a lot of time while trying the best placement for your tubing. I also like the way they look like. It´s a pitty that the ones that look like an "L" (90º) are not made aout of metal too.

Now it was time for the Aquaero. I decided to wait untill the final assembly to think where it should go.

    Maybe here?

Ok, now I had to think how to put it there. I did not want to drill any holes, so I used the same cable-ties that hold the PSU to the case. There was a little gap between the cable-ties and the PSU, which gave me enough space to insert an 8mm plexi piece. This plexi would be screwed to the aquaero.

But there was a little problem ... I could not use the bolts that came with the aquaero, because I could not access them ... the problem was that the PSU was already in it´s place. I didn´t feel like re-doing again the whole PSU-cable ties, so I decided to screw it in a different way....

First I picked up new bolts and did some washers:

    They needed some sleeve-action:

    And this is it:

    That´s it for today :)

Before I forget, a pic of the whole water-loop:

With all that elements in the case the weight is 8,8kg.

Love it! The chrome parts go well with the shiny mesh.
The problem with using cloth or polyester filters is they will stop weak airflow (like a breeze). Air has to be forced through it. (PC fans work best by pulling air. They are weakest pushing air.)

but they are availible..with 1/8" or 1/4" for both 6x1mm and 8x1mm tubing

......... or is it that you just can't buy them where you live?

I am very happy with your help and comments Cheapskate!!! :D

I really don´t want to reduce my airflow, so I will keep it like it is now. I will "fight" dust using my air -compressor ;)

Really did not know that "PC fans work best by pulling air". Nice to learn a new thing.

    Thx mate.

Hi Alan, thx for help!!! I am using 8*10 mm tubing or also 8*12mm. Where can I get those fittings for that tubing (like the ones on the pic )? If you can tell me also some online shops where I can order them ... that :thumb:would be great!!!

Maybe you can help me here too: Where can I get 10*12mm (or 10,5*12mm) tubing for quick-connectors (legris trademark)?

    hi razzta......

    always glad to help....
......I used to use the 8*10mm Legris a few years ago until
I changed over to 13*19mm with 1/2inch barbs.
I don't know of any store here in Germany that sells
    Legris connectors for 10*12mm tubing....sorry.
You should be able to use any PUR 10*12mm tubing
    for Legris connectors

here just 2 examples of German online stores selling Legris for 8*10mm with G1/4 thread
that send to other EU countries:

Project "Tia Yu" 20 September 2007

    Hi, time for an update.

Back to the Aquaero: This is the Aquaero mounted. It fits perfect between the GPU, PSU and pump. The plexi-stand (where it is mounted) needs no screws to fix it to the PSU-side, it stays there just because of the pressure done by the cable ties that hold the plexi-stand:

Next step was mounting all the waterloop elements outside the case and checking for leaks. 24hours non stop running and no leaks :thumb:.

Then I emptied the waterloop and mounted it back inside the case. At this time I did some minor adjustments

    - just to make it easier to mount/unmount the tubing in the future...allowing for more space (more tube) between the fittings. For example, the tubing from rad>CPU was too short, so it was hard to take the tubing out of the fittings.

    - to fill the loop I initially thought about setting a "T" after the pump. But in the end I decided to fill it in through the reservoir. There was a little problem, the top fitting of the reservoir was hidden by the HDD cage ..... so I did a minor cut:

    .... and it helped ....

Now the loop is being tested for leaks....

    More later this week....

those 90ۦ angles are going to kill your water flow.

Not really, actually the flow is ok. Maybe it depends on the loop itself and the number of 90 angles you put in it.

I wish the pump would have a speed control for system fine tuning , like my other pump: Swiftech MCP655. Actually the flow is too high, more than I really need in this loop.

I also think the plexi top from OC labs does really a good job in improving flow.

    __________________________________________________________________

    A little update.

Leak test is finished. Only a minor leak here:

I thought the sensor itself was not screwed to the main body, so I just did not pay attention to that. Nothing to worry about.

Next thing to do was to finish the back panel.

Remember the transparent plexi I did for the In/Outs of the MB?

I sanded the sides to make it fit perfect with the sorrounding pci bracket (you remember that too?) .. so that no screws/glue or whatever was needed. The pressure of the pci bracket on it makes it hold. This is a pic from the inside (it should be good to give you an idea):

Still the back panel needed something more to look good for me ... :eyebrow: ...

I decided to make a cover for the pci-brackets. I used plexi, then it was painted.

    This is the final result:

    Time for dinner!
