My 1st mod was completed a couple of weeks ago (only just got round to taking a photo). Made custom aluminium face plates for each of my drives from the spare drive bay bezels on my LianLi pc-60.

Please note this was my 1st ever mod!

To cut them, i used a drill and saw to make a hole big enough to get a file in, then used a file to create the shape and finish the edges.

as for the other bays..... i dont know yet. i'd like a baybus or rheobus and an LCD, but we will see.

no, i didnt buy a pre-made one from Lian li (I dont think they make the pioneer slot cover) i did it myself.

I didnt have to bend the aluminium at all, as i used one of the spare drive bay covers that it came with (and was removed when i fitted the drive) so it was already the correct shape

    Nice job!

I think he was refering to the chamfer of the slot. If I'm not mistaken it is painted. That's what I did to mine.

oh sorry, i was half asleep when i read that (thanks viperz)....

yes, i painted the old plastic face of the drive, and sanded down the edges so that it would fit inside the aluminium.

    Really nice! Good job!

I thought of doing that with mine, but that was too much work so I just stealthed. I have to admit that even though that doesn't have the "WTF?" reaction from stealthing, imho it looks much more professional.

    wow

    nice work :D
i prefer that to stealthing, but must be fiddly, and if you get a new drive you've got a lot of work to do :p

    Looks uberclean now :D

    Alaric.

Very nice! I need to something to the drives on my Lian Li case.
How have you done the try on the cd drive? Did you just cut a big slot in the faceplate and paint front of the tray?

    Looks sweet :D

Surely the cdrom faceplate took 2 plates to make because after ur big rectangular cutout and a lot of fileing the cutout would be too small :D. Unless u cheated and used a big fancy machine ;)
