Lastly, we take the cerebral part of The Orange Box out of its packaging and see what it has to offer us. Will we ever escape the Aperture Science Enrichment Centre and will we ever get over this intense bout of nausea? The only way to find out is to read our in-depth review...

However short portal may have been, compared to most other source games, the maps will be relatively easy to make using hammer. We shall see lots of community built maps I would think!

I'm looking forward to the community maps, and for the portal gun to appear in HL2. Joe, I played portal first and still found myself disappointed. I found that it started to drag on at the end and got really boring. I hope whatever's next for portal is longer, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it ties with HL2 beyond what Ep. 2 showed.

How can you review portal without mentioning the completely awesome final credit sequence? I have that song on my MP3 player now :D

    "Aperture Science.
    We do what we must,
    because we can."

I've only got one thing to say.

    The cake is a lie.

Loved portal. Everything is so great about it. The game, the mechanics, the "plot", the humor, the turrets ("I don't blame you")...

    Excellent !

    Seconded :D

I'll put down the Portal ending and end credits down as being the funniest i've ever seen in any game

Also i for some reason have taken a real shine to portal. played an hour or so of EP2, but already on a second run through of portal

Portal was realy impressive, tough a little short... so fingers crossed and hoping for more bonus maps ^_^
Personally I played portal first and liked it that way . I saw it as a warmup for EP:Two. But either way is fine.

Spoiler tags people pleeease! Most people won't want to have the ending ruined before they start playing the game.

We are sorry to inform that this next test. Is impossible. Please make no attempt to complete it.

Portal is going to get some awesome merch at the valve store!

Also: anyone else getting really really annoyed with the challenge levels? I'm going mad trying to do level 18 with the least amount of portals!!

I played Portal first, because this was to me to most 'interesting' new thing in the HL universe. Its a amazing game. While playing it i thought about all sorts of addons like frantic mulitplayer stuff where people must help each other through a level. I remember the days when me and my TFC clan mates, would play till the morning laughing our socks off on some amazing co-op puzzle mods for TFC.

Portal is amazing and i see much potential for the modding community out there, its almost like boxworld in 3D with holes.

Didn't think so myself, can't see how it'd give anything away.

I'll edit it anyway if you want to do the same to the part you quoted :)

    EDIT: done

Very much looking forward to community maps for this because the concept is too awesome to end so soon!

Where does one go for fan maps these days? I think the last thing I downloaded was probably They Hunger for HL1...
