Equipment Camera Upgrade

Hey all,

I'm using a Fujifilm S6500 FD, which has a built in 28-300mm Equiv. 135 Lens, 10.7 Optical Zoom and 6.3MP's

I'd be selling it, and have about £200 plus what ever I make from selling the S6500, and I want a DSLR with quite a long lens.

I was look at..:

Second Hand 350D or 400D (with 28-55mm lens as per. kit)
and a 70-300mm Sigma Lens.

Any other ideas or recomendations?

 

I sold the same camera but went the nikon route, got the D40 with kit lens and have recently brought a sigma 55-200. From everything i read when deciding what to get there isn't a lot of difference between the nikon and canon's and it mostly comes down to personal preference.

I managed to get about £100 for my s6500fd

 

With the arrival of the 450D the 400D/20D should be dropping in price real soon (at least by April) to around the price point of $450+/- USD or so. Give it a wait to see what happens.

 

Try the S9600 out as it uses 52 (55 via ring) but has external flash trigger for flash guns and 9MP (think 10)

 

I'll have a mint 100-300 Canon AF fit Sigma lens for sale soon. How much were you looking to spend on the lens?
