Hugely enjoyable, and the craftsmanship is, as usual, excellent. I will therefore be clearing out the modding space to work some more on mine in an (I suspect doomed from the start, but hey), effort to top the BioMech goodness on that.
Thank you everybody! Glad to hear it was the wait to see it. It's too late for CeBIT now, we missed the deadline, but AMD is still excited about using it Computex. I'd love to see the reaction from Thermaltake at that show Since it missed CeBIT, AMD give me permission to play with the system in the meantime. Thanks, Mnpctech will be manufacturing and reselling these milled aluminum computer feet by the end of March.
Do doubt the best craftsmanship I have ever had the pleasure of reading that has gone into a computer case, awesome mind bogglingly awesome.
Thanks guys! It's around 60 pds.. it's 6061 aircraft aluminum. Today, I'm actually reconsidering my thoughts on painting that black BlueRay drive to match the case. I didn't want to upset somebody, but Hey! it sticks out like a pimple and I need to practice what I preach!
I think you have a slight misconseption with the aluminum. 7000-series of alu was originally designed for aircrafts. That's why it's strength to weight - ratio is so high and why it is also so expensive. 6061 is a generic alloy used mostly on extruded profiles. Gotta say that is one awesome case! How long did it take to polish it?
Thank you! I took this photo wed night of the system after reformating the HD. Pictured with Razer's Lachesis Mouse, Lycosa KB and iZ3D 22" LCD. Note to self, move the system somewhere else for better pics.
Thank you d0g! The AMD project made engadget. I love the garage sale comment left by somebody http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/07/phenom-9900-powered-case-mod-could-lift-off-at-any-moment/
