Vinyl dye isn't like normal paint, it won't come off on your hands - unlike my keyboard which I sprayed using normal paint.....
You're going about it the right way, Vinyl dye is the best way to colour a mouse. I just died mine black yesterday and its pretty sweet now. GO FOR IT!!!
did u just paint str over the top or do any pre-prep b4 vinyl dying it?- looks real good btw! edit - all thses flu drugs have made me go googly- i can see that it was a normal white intelli eye - just wondering what i would need to do to my v3 intelli which is painted silver:/
he most likely took the mouse appart then used the vinyl dye and did up the parts he took off then when it dried he put it back on. not too hard.
You can get vinyl dye at automotive stores right? oh and btw... that mouse is so insanely ass kickin its unbelivable.. keep up the good work dude
It's a standard intellimouse optical with Halfords black vinyl paint [same as dye, Halfords call it paint] on it. Only preparation was washing it in warm soapy water then rinsing it off and drying it thoroughly. Spray it on and voila . Edit: Not quite voila, you have to let it dry .
caged: it looks funney your mouse that is on my one right here the plastic around the buttons is dark grey, whereas yours looks bright silver??? in fact its the same colour as the mouse wheel, where on yors ther is a defiante contrast, is it sprayed or just the camera playing silly buggers????
Mine is also a hard rubber surround, we have the old models. The new ones are all weird and funny...... They're plastic and silver.. And EVIL
The 'Hard plastic' one is the original intellimouse Explorer. Whilst the silver ones are the latest version(v.3 i think) of the mouse.
