Equipment Canon price increase May 1st

    Canon will be making +5% price increases starting May 1st. If you are planning on picking any equipment up, best to do it now.

    do you have a source for this? sounds a bit odd. hopefully most of the increase will be absorbed by the retailers

    LOL! As my cousin was told by a seller in a Bang & Olufsen store when asking to a 50% price increase on a pair of speakers: "Well you know that's how it is with electronics"

    Yeah! That's exactly how it is with electronics. Things get more and more expensive. ALL THE TIME!! :p

    Yes. Canon. No one knows what exactly will go up and what will remain the same nor is there a definite increase %, but it has been said to be 5% +.

    I'd say it has to a lot more to do with the fluctuations of the US dollar/Euro/Yen more then with being electronics. Any non-pegged currency needs frequent re-pricing at the moment.

    No worries. I'm just re adjusting to living in a country with a floating currency again, so I'm facing a lot of monthly price changes to all the camera stuff.:p
