According to coolsmartphone.com, official release models have an updated ROM that supposedly solves the issues with the sluggish interface.
A HTC diamond would be a great phone to go for. It has a touch screen which is negative for you but on the plus side it has a good Camera an all important FULLY FUNCTIONAL browser, perfect for facebook. I'm not sure you get this on the Nokia N95. And that phone is not as good looking as the diamond either.
have played with the diamond when the WM rep came in, supurb little phone the motion sensor is good and there's a fantastic marble game to go with it. The sluggish interface was an issue and he did say it would be fixed with the rom update. Love the WM rep geeky enough to talk tech with. Going to be marketed as the XDA Diamond, hate o2 for rebranding HTC's stuff.
fev, what's your opinion on the N95 8GB? A bit late maybe as I've just renewed my contract and they've shipped one out to me, but... To profqwerty - even if you want a small cheap phone, I'd recommend getting the N95 to resell - check how much you can get for one on eBay!
whens the Diamond coming out on o2? kinda hoping its beofore august I've quite liked some of the rebranding, the orbit looked a lot better than then the htc Artemis/mda compact III
Let's all mug fev for his phone opinions! How's the new N78? I might get one, but your sage council goes a long way!
I've also got the N95 8GB and I have to say Its a very good all rounder, Although as was mentioned previously the 6500 slide or classic should be right up your street
n95 black, plenty of returns diamond is august, apple demanded it because it could (will) effect iphone sales. N78, don't get one till rev 2. N96.. freeview tv on your mobile? YES PLEASE! (O2 exclusive for 3 weeks)
Hold on, your saying that one phone's release has been postponed till august because Apple demanded it? I have the HTC TyTN2 (Kaiser) and it's fantastic, does everything i need, and can support upto 8gb of Micro SD card capacity. Sam
TYTN IIs are good phones, although if I could have any of the PDAs from work, I'd go with the HTC Touch Dual
The touch dual has a few important features missing, like wifi for example. The tytn II is good, heck even the TYTN I is good (as you can flash the ROM on it and get the inbuilt GPS chip to work as HTC disabled it). THe problem with these phones is they run windows mobile 6, which is disgustingly fiddly. Trust me I know, I have a HTC 610 (Orange SPV e650). My Old W850i sony erriccson is more intuitive and even usefull, sometimes. With a phone you need good features, quality build, looks and importantly an easy grandma friendly Interface. If Nokia manage to pull off all the features with the N96 inlcluding getting a battery level to a good standard as well as a good looking easy to use OS, I'ts got my Vote.
false. grey imports had it disabled 75% of the TyTN I's in the UK didn't have the chip Again, misconception... WM6 is poor on non touch screen phones. WM6 Professional (as seen on all HTC touchscreen products is supurb and 100% customisable
