    Hey all,

Just came back from playing GTA4 on the PS3.

Alright, the game play isn't bad, but the rest of the game is an insult. The actual game is running in upscaled SD for a start - you can tell as soon as you get close to the screen when you're static in the game.

Worst thing though, is the abysmal 5.1 output from the game. There's no Subwoofer channel, despite the PS3 and AVR saying there is. AVR is fine, sub is set up correctly and PS3 will happily put stuff through the sub when playing blu-ray's. It's definately the game.

    Anyone noticed this?

Bit of a shame, really. :sigh:

I've not had a problem. No issues with the surround and I'm certainly getting LFE out of the sub, whether its a dedicated channel or not is moot really.

Looks the same as the 360 too from what I've seen, apart from the odd bit of choppiness here and there (like on 6 stars, lots of stuff blowing up, gunfire etc)

The graphics do look awful on the 360 too.

5.1 is fine on my setup for the most part. Although the centre speaker doesn't have enough volume for the voice, but I think that's my fault when I was setting things up.

My center is definatly loud enough and the sub kicks in when needed, its gotta be down to individual setups.

Mine works fine on 5.1, sounds pretty awesome and I keep thinking there's someone outside my window shouting when actually it's just the game :D

I've been nothing but impressed with the audio within the game, even the intro music. I agree the game doesn't look as good as I'd hoped (on 360) but the physics make it for me. It "feels" right, which sounds a bit odd I guess but a lot of games miss this by a mile.
