    Hey guys

Okay I want to know if it worth to upgrade from my 1950XTX to an 4850 or 9800GTX+ ? My spec on the rig and my Res is ( 1280 X 768 )

BTW I upgraded from 2GB to 4GB and it WORTH it. I can tell that after see the different with vista 64bit.

    Thanks.

If you don't intend to go much above that resolution then its quite likely that both the 4850 and 9800GTX+ would be a lot more than you will need.

I have no idea how good/bad the 1950XTX is so I can't say wether its worth upgrading compared to it though.

If you were looking for a new card, the 4670 / 9600 GSO / 9800 GT would probably be more in the price/performance bracket you'd be looking at (at £60/£70/£80 respectively and offering performance on par with the cash you spend, pretty much)

I went from a 1950 pro to a 4850. at 1280x1024 res and I max out almost every game's settings (not crysis).
I suggest you get whichever is cheaper.

I went from a x850 XT platinum addition to 8800 GT and it ran all the games i played at max, cod4, lineage 2, few others, and I run same resolution. No slow downs yet with warhammer online, haven't tried crysis, but i say get something a bit more powerful that will last a bit longer as the 8800 GT's are somewhat outdated, though still great cards. the 9800 GTX will be plenty. If you don't mind ATI, than a 4850 will be good too.

I would say go with the 4850, or the 4670, stay with ATI then you don't have to worry about new drivers. Of course you will have to re-install them but you won't have to learn the nVidia set up.

I had nvidia cards and I own one now but for my brother :) an 8600GT, So I'm familiar with nvidia drivers and cards. Don't worry about that.

I was looking for some thing cheap! I mean some thing make me game and do the normal work on my 17" wide screen. I'm not planning to Upgrade the screen soon, I know that 4850 is the cheapest rockin card you can buy, but I will not use all that power. I didn't even use 1280x1024 :(

So like you guys said I will look on the 4670 but if any one have any idea with nvidia cards that will be awesome :)

Either the 9800gtx or 4850, to be honest, whatever's cheaper and best bang for the buck.

doubt you'd need anymore than a 9800GT, a GTX would probably be overkill.

4850 is slightly better value at the moment. So I'd go with that. TBH there isn't much difference noticable between the 9800GTX+, especially at that resolution! Don't go with the 4670, that is 3850 performance.
