Alright, I just built a new system (9950, 4870, 4GB Ram, Foxconn A7DA-S, Zalman ZM850). The problem I am having is this weird electrical sound coming from the graphics card. It will only happen (at least noticeably) when I am playing a 3D application; like 3dMark06, Crysis Warhead, CoD4, etc. It will also happen when I am scrolling through images. I assumed it was my power supply at first as it was only a 500watt so I replaced it with the Zalman and it still persists.

The weirdest thing about it is the card runs perfectly fine. I get 15.5k in 3Dmark06. Anyone know what could be causing it? Or should I just RMA the card?

Is it a high-pitched whining noise? If so, it'll be the choke coils vibrating. A dab of glue usually does the trick. :)

    Aye as krikkit said.

Both cards in the XFire setup here make the noise. It's nothing to worry about and some superglue will fix the problem.

More of a buzz than a whine I think. It's so quiet anyway it doesn't really matter to me.
