    well I just broke one...

the thing is that I use uv ccs without the acrylic tube because the tube stops lot of the uv light...

so when I got the cc out of the tube, I broke the little pin that comes from one of the end... tried everything to reconnect it but nothing worked... even silicon failed!:D

    ....shame on me:lol:

The place I get mine, they don't have a protective tube around it, and when I was mounting it, I bent it just that bit too much... not good to break CCFL's though... they are filled with Mercury Vapor.

if yar broke them just do wot i did and solder 2g4 around 8 super-bright leds (and resistors) pop it in the tube and there yar go!

its as bright as a cc but 1/2 the cost!

i don't think i've arrived in time for "cheesy neighbours music" nor do i particularly understand the older australian expressions...

as for "theres no place like home" i suppose you're refering to ansett aus- that aeroplane company...

so hey i might know a few ozzie sayings/slang but its all brushed off from mah skippy friends :blah:

"cheesy neighbours music" refers to the tv-soap "Neighbours", it wont be shown on australian television, aparently only the UK is willing to pay for it (not surprising, its rubbish).

"theres no place like home" refers to the film 'the wizard of oz'.

Neighbours is compulsory viewing in the UK, It teaches us how Australians really are, and their way of life.

It preparers us for when they eventually come travelling to the UK :)

Oh come on ... neighbours ... really ... even back in NZ I couldn't stand that soap crap ... but why watch neighbours as an aussi when you can listen to Kev Wilson ? Bungee jumping ... yeah ... hehe

    Cheers

well, the little pin on the end was playing up. So i take the cathode out the case to see if i can do a lil bit of repair on it.

stand up, look around the room for the cathode, cant find it, then i sit down to think where have i put it, crunch, £25 blue cathode down the drain

wasnt best pleased with myself, but thats the price of stupidity eh...

I bought two cathodes and they had acrylic protective casing... although they weren't supported inside the casing and were snapped in two during transit. Both of them :waah: Replacement for me
