30minutes? whats wrong with your legs? i walk that in 10-15.:p

I used to car it, just because it was there, as with everything its just ease of use, and laziness :p

I used to cycle to and from uni, 4.2 miles through town, used to cycle to my girlfriends 2.5miles, then i got a car :( lol.

Also when it was wet and on the lunch break, you couldnt slide the pushbike round the roundabout on the way home :p

Method: Bus (£8.90 for the week (as they've just changed the route - it now starts from the bus stop just below my house instead of from 3 villages over), used to be 2 buses on different networks and therefore 2 different tickets and cost an extra £10)
    Distance: ~25 miles
    Time: ~40-45 mins

Although if I go to work by car then I can go over the mountain instead of around it (+ avoiding all the stops the bus makes):
    Distance: ~20 miles
    Time: 20 mins

Oh the joys of freelancing. Used to be about 15 mins by car at about 7 miles. Which wasn't bad at all especially given that my dad goes 60 miles each way at about 1hr 15min.

As Jamie says though, there are definitely some downsides to this approach, but the commute is fantastic.

I crawl from my bed to my chair.

~3 feet, takes upwards of half an hour on a bad day.

Time: about 20 mins if scotrail is working, so about 35mins currently, due to those unheard of hazards in Scotland like Rain, leaves and Snow. Come on Scotrail winter happens every year it shouldn't be a surprise.
Still shouldn't complain, my fiancé’s commute is 160 miles and about 3.5 hours, so she stays up there during the week reducing it to 20 minutes during the week.

There are a few idiots on the way, a couple that, as you're coming out of a 30, doing 30, they try and overtake straight away, as you accelerate too. They seem to think you'll continue doing 30, for some reason?! Had one the other day that, unsuccesful in overtaking me near a corner, not more than a mile down the road, turned off at a junction behind me. There are also those that do 20 and stick to 20 all the way through a 30 and then stick to 40 when it's a 60 road. Grr.

Add the other idiots that come onto the road:

People who pull out in front of you, leaving a gap so small that you are forced to drop from 60 down to 30 in all of a few seconds

    People who don't indicate

People who do 30 in a 60, and then when the limit becomes 30, they speed up to 40

People that turn the headlights on full beam, just before they go past

People who leave headlights on full beam

20 mins in, 15 mins back

I take my time heading to work so that I'm not all hot and sweaty. On my way back I go faster. My best time is about 7 - 8 minutes though. Including a big hill and an annoyingly long wait at a traffic light.

I'm considering a car though at the moment. It's just too cold. The amount of clothing I need to wear is just getting impractical. Also, I get really bad earache. I'll have to start running in the evenings instead.
