Hi All How long does it take to get a XBox 360 repaired these days? Mine has just Red Ring Of Death'ed on my while playing the Gears of War 2 campaign for the first time. Anyone Had there's repaired lately.
aye, i've had to send consoles back three times and the longest it's ever taken is 12 days. not too shabby, although i'd rather it didn't have to go at all
A months free live sounds very nice. Thats worth 7 days with no console. Also how long does it take them to come and collect.
i sent mine off about a few weeks ago. opened the box hooked it all up still 3 red lights...i just got off the phone with microsoft and it wasn't a pleasant phone call.
i dont think the free month of xbl is worth it...its a measly 12 bucks...i think they should offer a free game.
how long do you have this 360 thats after dying. ive had 3 rrod and was hopin theyd actually fixed the problem
i got one for Christmas and it completely scratched the disck to a condition it cannot be read any more. it took 3 weeks to send it off and get it back. and the error persists. so now i have 2 destroyed games and microsoft are refusing to admit a fault saying there was nothing wrong with it.
they skimped on rubber stops/bumps on the dvd drive. if the dvd spins off centre slightly becase there arent the proper rubber stops it hits the innards of the dvd drive and scrape. i read a few months ago it would have cost 25p per system to put in the rubber stops and they decided not to http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2008/12/16/microsoft-knew-about-xbox-360-disc-scratching/1 where did you buy it? if its under one year since you bought it bring it back to the shop and they might replace it straight away. i did it twice at game, the second time was over the year but they didnt check properly
What do Microsoft actually all need when sending the XBox back? Will they want the original receipt from Amazon, from where I got the Xbox??
i booked mine in online, and im sure all i needed was the serial number. that was it, UPS picked it up 2 days later and i had it back within 10 days. Just make sure you only send the console, no power leads or HD.
Yep, I only needed the serial number. Filled out the UPS form, printed it off. Got UPS to come collect it. I even forgot to put the Incident number on the box, but they didn't seem to mind. I sent it back in the last crappy box we could find with masses of bubble wrap. They sent it back in a lovely white box with polystyrene. I'm keeping hold of that for the next time I have to send it back... Cos there is blatantly going to be a next time
does the warranty still cover the rrod? cos when i bought my xbox this xmas the guy in game said it wasn't covered so i got insurance. is that a fairly recent development??
so that ******* in game lied to me? he said the warranty doesn't cover rrod at all anymore! i thought that was strange but thought he would know best. he suggested the insurance and purely because of that i bought the insurance! im a tad pissed if he lied to me
