Cool stuff and well made too. This might be something to look at. Also search with "digital collage" might bring out some hits. Basically this guy is using stock photos or his own and combining them in photoshop. Also he's probably "painting" some of the backgrounds himself. Remember that the basics of the technique and even the style are easy to learn, but taking it to the next level needs a strong artistic vision and probably years of training.
