Is it true that companies don't have to offer refunds on faulty goods? My router has bit the dust after less than 9 months, retailer initially wouldn't listen, so half an hour on the phone to Netgear and I lost the will to live (worst customer service ever experienced), so hung up. Now the retailer is listening, but only offering a replacement, which I don't want.
Did you buy it from a shop? Did you just become hard of hearing meaning you shout a lot to make sure people can hear you? EXCUSE ME THIS DOESN'T WORK, CAN YOU REPLACE IT FOR ME? answer WHAT? IT DOESN'T WORK YOU KNOW. answer and replacement. Should work, no?
After 21 (maybe 28) days you are only entitled to a replacement, distance selling regulations means that before this time you can return the product for a full refund (less postage) but it's the retailers discretion to offer you a refund.
If you can get a replacement, I'd take it. You're lucky to get that after 9months sometimes. Just sell it on ebay or something if you get a new router.
I would gladly shout back, NO MATE IT GOES FOR REPAIR. Shouting in shops will lose you respect with the assistant and will more than likely lead to you leaving in a far off worse position than when you first came in
I've never mentioned anything to do with shouting. If you two want to start your own nonsensical threads about shouting, feel free.
Yes, I'd guessed that. It just seems a bit dumb to be going off on a tangent about shouting. A tad off topic if you don't mind me saying so.
I would guess it was a year. Retailer said it's too late to get a refund anyhow. Reading VipersGratitude's link would seems to confirm that, unless obviously it was offered by the retailer.
I wouldn't say it's off-topic at all, if you contact a retailer you shouldn't shout, it was an option given to you, thus it was discussed.
Yes I already know 'if you contact a retailer you shouldn't shout', but I didn't mention anything to do with shouting, so it was irrelevant to the thread. Then two other members start wading in about shouting. Beats me. Unless you're just looking for an argument?
