    Great list!

Why is PC gaming awesome? 50% mods-50% time

Mods = community support : more expected of devs
Time = more time for devs : more time expected of players

I love that Serious Sam is on that list, so much. Probably the most fun I have ever had playing a game :)

I loved that game.. we actually had a clan setup for the ogl a couple times- we quit because on the one hit saber cheese bind.. hitting a key and doing that roundhouse saber move that was unblockable.. and they never bothered to patch.. but man I loved the darkside- chocking out a guy behind a doorway.. epic =]

only one racing game in a list of 30.

given its my favourite genre, i don't agree, but then i'm not an "average" gamer, because i don't spend my entire life playing FPS.

    Hell , yeah!
But if you need to elect one rpg game to be th best ever rpg (top dow, iso view)...
    Let us see...
    Ultima series
    fallout 1 and 2
    baldur's gate 1 and 2
    PS: torment
    Nethack
    Neverwinter nights
    Temple of elemental evil
    ...
All great games! Torment has by far the best story and ambient.. But summing all up, i guess Ultima 7: The black gate and Ultima 7: The serpent isle were the best ever rpgs created! Even considering FPS RPGs. And the gran finale in ultima 9 for the series was just fantastic!
    Long live Richard Garriot!

    Tetris!!!!

I can't believe nobody remembered Tetris. I played it on my first pc (xt - 640 kb memory - 30 mb hard drive) for endless hours.

    Wing Commander!!!!!

The best NPC ever (Maniac, without a doubt)

    Watch and Leeearn!

Arse. I should have added Psychonauts to this list too on virtue of it's invention and character design.

I agree with the other people that have said it: StarCraft was, in my opinion, the defining RTS game. It's immensely popular (was to a greater extent than is) and was amazing for its time.

Also, I think you missed Unreal Tournament (never can remember how to refer to it) and Team Fortress 2. :D

Racing games tend to be on consoles, not PCs. That's from my experience anyway, since I can name quite a few console ones (Mario Kart, F-Zero, Gran Turismo, GRID for example) and the only PC one I know is Trackmania.

I can't believe you didn't include ...insert game here... you included games like ...insert least favorite game here... but not my favorite game.

You know, there is a point when crude humor can go a little too far. I was reading and enjoying this article until I ran across this line:

And that just pissed me off. Not that anyone really cares, but I personally found that to be offensive seeing as I am a (and have many friends that are) furry gamer. That's like saying "Who wants to play GTA4; just look at all those black people [in the storyline]!" Or something like "Who posts at FORUMS anymore, are those losers still in the 90's?" There is nothing wrong with furries, nor anyone of a specific race or ethnicity, or people who use forums or newsgroups. The article, however, does have a problem. Think about what you are saying, and whom might read it (and take offense to it), before you look like an ass on the internet.
