Samsung has become the second major handset manufacturer to dip its toes in the Android waters, with the I7500 smartphone running Google's open source OS.

 

Erm... I thought that accolade belonged to the HTC Magic?

Actually I think HTC also made the G1 so this is the second manufacturer but like you said, not the second implementation.

I love my G1 (im typing this post on it), and while the Android OS is still clearly very much in it's infancy it is quick, stable and functional. I admit i miss my N95's vastly superior camera and video recording (the G1's camera really is a pile of crap), but i do love having a proper keyboard.... so much i struggled to send a txt on my mates standard numpad phone the other night.

 

I'm gonna be keeping a close watch on this one.

 

I think I actually prefer T9... on my old Motorola RAZR (original version) I could type out messages quickly with one hand while barely looking. Now it takes two hands

 

got the G1 my self only thing that realy sucks is bat life on it need to get an bigger one

bit tech can you update the web site code an little so this box i am typeing in now srinks like the users posts do on the G1 as i have to move the screen about to see what i am typeing
