   last time i ever used a floppy was to do a bios update on a linux system, other than that, i havent used one since Win 98

   Floppy is not needed now.
   If you ever by hardware and you get the drives on a floppy (it happen to me the other day for a game pad from japan) just go on the web and download the drivers, plus they be more upto date.
