Hey, little PSU mod here, getting ready for when i full mod, in which ill have to relocate PSU to where it will be visable in case window.

Basically removed horid grill on fan side, and partially on inner side too, and replaced with chrome guards, actually improved air flow more than I expected, and made it much quieter. Also added side window, and splicing power of the fan in parellel fitted 2 lil 12v bulbs to light the intereor (lighted pics when mod is complete). Started a bit late, and all the stores were closed when I found I couldnt find anything that I could use for metal trim tho so a bit of a bodge job that is but will do for now :)

Just thought id share, gonna be a very smart pc mod when its done.

Nice work! :cooldude: I plan on modding my PSU with a window and lights soon, too.

What did you use for the "metal trim?" Is that tape?

I think that insulation tape is a good look. Maybe you should redo it and really take your time to get it perfectly straight, and just leave it taped. It's definitely not the standard trim, and that is cool in my book.

Yeah those where my thoughts. Thinking the tape gives the window a nice frame :) But for final mod something other than psu with one hand, penknife in the other will deffinately be in order :)

    Nice idea!

I'm modding a CM500 and the PSU is vertically mounted behind where I want to put my window.... Windowing the PSU will make it more interesting.. after I have modded the PSU bracket etc etc etc :)

Yeah, with a large ( 2 x 120mm fan) radiator I got going to be fitted in top of case, im moving PSU to down infront of the CPU, hence needed to do something with PSU :)
