Just as the title says i need some help searching for a first car, of course it doesnt have to be anything fancy, and i have about $1800 US dollars to spend..any suggestions (other than honda civics)
Craigslist shows me some good options in New Jersey: http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/1233245035.html http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/1232623145.html http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/1232447539.html http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/1232158126.html A lot of cars to look at on that site, no idea what kind you want though. Good hunting. (If you can find a 1990-1 Accord with under 100k miles that has been decently taken care of, go for it) (If you don't mind working on the car, look for an Eagle Talon.)
other than the mercades those were some nice finds ill especialy look into that nissan, i like the T top..please keep the finds comming people edit: i think my brother had an eagle talon after his ford ranger, both crap cars when he bought em....even worse when he sold em
The Nissan 300ZX is awesome assuming it’s been looked after properly, but I'm not sure it'd make a good first car. My neighbour offered me his old one (in mint condition) when he bought a Fairlady to replace it. I declined thinking that for an inexperienced driver, it'd just be too much to handle. I got another motorbike instead.
well as much as i would love to buy that nissan, i have bad news, apparently im not allowed to buy a car(or even look for one) OOOR go to collage untill i get a job, there are only two places i can get a job now, no one else is hiring,so if i can get a job there...im screwed...(my parents apparently have all my money that i have saved up)other wise that nissan would have been mine...tomorow lol
That's a shame, that Nissan would have been great... And yeah, the Merc is pretty crap, but I felt obliged to throw something German in the mix. Your fbrother must have had some bad luck with the Talon, my friend has been working on one, it's great on the snow, and he races it pretty successfully.
Well if you don't mind somewhat of a gas hog. You could probably pick up a loaded mid 90's Tahoe or Yukon. Tough as nails they are.
Yep, that Z was a pretty good deal. They really aren't that bad on gas either. I get about 28-30 on the highway.
well, some good news, i have a job interview tomorrow....hopefully i don't screw it up and they give me the job, even though...i might suck at it
just stay calm.. look interested.. the hr guy/gal will hire that over a bucktooth I like the 240sx myself =] I've taken that thing over 140mph stock when they first came out.. just an awesome ride.. I couldn't get car insurance for years because of the tickets
im not yet working but when i do, its a wholesales club, at least 10 people i know work there and they can put in a good word for me
In my experience(for what 6 decades is worth) it's a whole bunch easier to get pulled in to a job than it is to try and push your way in. Good Luck. john
Well I know you said $1800, I'm going to throw some picks from me, being a g-body driver. first choice. http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/1208575412.html there's ALOT of money thrown into that regal, if I lived in the area I would probably take out a loan just to get it. Beautiful ride. Not a fan of the low rider look, but that can easily be fixed. You could probably sell those rims and pay off most if not all of the car and buy some different rims. Second choice looks like a hell of a deal. http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/1235458675.html http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/1200791622.html I love older cars, especially g-bodies. I don't know much about vehicles. But it's a good learning experience and I haven't had much troubles with mine. I get a lot of looks with my car.
