Hey guys, I posted a thread earlier of some parts I was thinking of getting and was looking for a bit of help. Now I've been having a scan of the net, having a read etc. and want to know what graphics card I should get for this setup, I am aware of then new ATI's but does anyone have any prices or know when they will hit the shops in the uk ? I have always wanted to build a kick ass gaming pc, now I have the money i'm not going to make a half assed job of it, I want the real deal (for my budget ofc) Here's what I have so far Case: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/148685 CPU: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/151477 mobo: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/159455 CPU cooler: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/116412 memory: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/152640 HDD: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/129413 PSU: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/152604 DVD drive: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/134324 I don't think I have forgot anything, let me know if I have, now all I need is the graphics card, My budget for the graphics card/s is £250 Now bear in mind this is my first build so go easy on me Also please correct me if any parts don't go together with any other parts please
All looks pretty good to me... nearly the same setup as me. Only one thing - wrong CPU Cooler type - you picked an AMD try this - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/152658 I got everything from Scan - they do daily deals & it does work out cheaper.. They have a ASUS Deluxe v2 for £195.49 on today's specials. http://www.scan.co.uk/TodayOnly/Index.aspx It could save you a few quid so worth a look.
Thank's for the help so far guys, btw I am using a 22" monitor and will be playing crysis on high settings, will the above graphics cards combined with my choices eat it up ??? So what is the best gaming graphics card I can get for £250 ?? I have seen the ones above, not ignoring them Edit: I really like the look of this as mentioned above http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/2GB-...GPU-750MHz-1600-Cores-CrossFire-2x-DLDVI-HDTV seems brilliant Also does that ^^ have a built in sound card or will I need to buy one ?
Soundcard - The ASUS has a very good 7.1 setup on it. Graphics - I'm an Nvidia man - 275 for that money or 2x260 Nice card though.. This is what's on the Aug lists: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2009/04/03/radeon-hd-4890-vs-geforce-gtx-275/1 i play on a 22" Dell @1920x1080 - all looks great
change your dvd drive to this as the one you chose was IDE the old version you want sata http://www.ebuyer.com/product/173553 also that power supply you have chosen isn't modular and its a overkill so go for this one http://www.ebuyer.com/product/114941 and for gpu i would wait as direct x11 comes out next week
Most new games will be developed with DX11, so the card is futureproof. Also, the new cards are produced with the 40nm manufacturing process, which means less power usage and less heat. The cards should have huge performance gains. http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=174618
