Unfortunately buying an e7400 is very much like pimping out an old ford escort. It might be able to keep pace with newer cars, but you'll still want to desperately own the newer one as only yourself will ever seem to appreciate it.

Just had a thought... Do you or your friend have an OS for this build?? If not, its going to get a fair bit more expensive...

from randomtasks list of components i would change case to http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Cool...w-o-PSU-(New-Improved-Version)-Scan-Exclusive as it is cheaper but still very good

the mobo to http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/MSI-...)-DDR3-1600(OC)-RAID-Blu-Ray-Audio-GB-LAN-ATX avery caperable board for a really cheap price

change the psu to http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/400W-Corsair-Power-Series-PSU-ATX-PS-2-UK-Version-3-year-warranty just as good if not better than the akasa

    change hdd to http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/500G...HD502HJ-SATA-3Gb-s-7200rpm-16Mb-Cache-8ms-OEM

this means random tasks modified basket comes to £358

which means you can afford a 4870 to make rougly £380 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/512M...R5-GPU-750MHz-800-Cores-2x-DL-DVI-I-HDTV-HDCP

Pick up the cheap Gigabyte G31 board at scan. Clocks great and would maybe free up money for a better card :D

:p, it's not like its your job to make it and you've quality tested 100s of products to gurantee the performance of these items...

    For a computer that budget:
    CPU: Phenom II X2 545, not BE but its £60 - £65
GPU: 4770, 4850 is ok but its louder and hotter for a marginal increase in performance
Motherboard: MSI 770-C45, unless you wanna go down the DDR2 route, (AM2+)
