    Hi all,

bit out of the loop PC-wise, been a few years since I built a system and need some advice on getting a decent monitor to replace my current (inherited from gf) POS...
Hoping to build a new i5 based system within the next few months (budget about £700) and want something that will survive the upgrade... Suggestions please!!!! :)

    Cheers!

hi, what kind of screen size are you looking for?
There's a 21.5" Asus monitor with a 1080p resolution here bit out of budget.
But if you can stretch to it I'd fully recommend this 24" 1920X1200 LG monitor at £177. I got one recently and its amazing and great value.

I've got a Viewsonic VX2260WM. Lovely 16:9 21.5 inch monitor that I am very happy with.

HP LP2275W; is the best all-around.
    The next is Samsung T220HD.

gateway FHD2400 is very good, Hyundaie W241D, HP w2408h.

I'd go with the Viewsonic, as the rest are a bit expensive.

The Viewsonic does seem like the one I'd go for... My only concern is that the GPU I'm planning on is only about a £130 budget, would it be able to happily cope with the resolution of the 22" screen?

Games I want to be able to run are things like Crysis etc.

I'm thinking probably the ATI Radeon HD 4890, though I will see whether prices/models change a bit closer to the time, probably just after Xmas.

I am using the Saphire Vapor 2GB HD4890 with an 24" and a 19" screen and have no problems. You will find that the GPU is up to it.
