The 60GB is supposed to have the best emulation since it contains hardware from a PS2.

The 80GB has software emulation which is patched regularly so new games can work on a PS3 ...

I'm going to install Final Fantasy 8 now to remind me of how it once was.

No, no, no, no, no! Play VII if you want to reminisce, VIII was no where near as good.

Noooo FFVIII is a classic too! I actually liked FFVIII over FVII. I feel FF8 aged much better than 7 did. I can still tolerate 8 to a degree. When I load up 7 and see those polygons I just takes me a little too far back. Not to say 7 wasn't good; I loved it. But I can play 8 time and time again and I still love it.

I just so happen to have a copy of 8 on my desk a mate gave me, never played it before, shame I can't just put it on my PSP.

I'd rather reminisce with a good old game of Final Fantasy IX. That game RAWKED.
The skill system is what got me.
Learning skills from items and armour... awesome xD

But FF8 would be the first FF I ever played.
Thats the Final Fantasy that got me into the whole RPG genre.

    Pure AWESOMENESS. ^^

FFVIII is my favourite, and the first I played, couldn't find a VII, and now the graphics put me off, I can stand out of date GFX but 7 is just too much. Didn't really like IX that much, X was good X-2 haven't played doesn't look al that good, XI skipped, don't play MMOs, XII playing now, bit slow as I am having to go through again as my 50 hour save game was lost when I got broken into. I want to get a PSP for FFI and FFII, plus a PS3 for when XIII comes out.

I'm a big fan of the Final Fantasy series, owning pretty much all of them (except XI). I got into the series from playing another Square game (technically Monolith), Xenogears and then continued to purchase FFVII. However, the price of the PS3 doesn't really justify me buying it just so I can play one game. Especially since there is a wide variety of games that are not console exclusive and the recent price slashes to the XBox360 makes it that much more attractive as a console for casual gaming.

however 60gb runs a lot hotter than 40gb. If you already got a ps2, 40gb is better for you imo.

So you reccomend just going down to a retail store and getting the 40gb version? Hopefully by the time a good selection of games (not that there arn't alot of good games atm, but not as wide selection as the other consoles imo) it will be reduced in price. Maybe I'm just wishing though lol!

I'm looking forward to these and were one of the reasons i bought a PS3 knowing these would be out.
I've only played FF:VII, FF:VII:CC and FF:XI really. Looks like the cutscenes will have a real wow factor about them.
