Final Fantasy XIV has given out a benchmark...
It is called a graphic card killer
because...GTX 480 or HD 5850 also only get a quite high marks as 4300.
However, the the highest marks is 8000

    Can anyone get over 5000???

Mod Edit: Needs a Link, Arthur!

I got 3000 something with my rig in sig, except no SSD at the time. According to the little bar graph that runs during the benchmark I was easily in the upper half the entire time, yet 3000 is certainly in the lower half of scores. Yet even with 3000 it said I had a good system and could up the resolution (I was already on 1920x1080).

The important thing to note is that just because the test goes up to 8000 doesn't mean that it's a "graphics card killler" or that the game is particularly demanding. For all anyone knows, a score of "8000" could require 1 millisecond loading times and 300 frames per second average. It might not even be possible with modern day computers. Think of the Windows Experience Index, it rates your computer based on the parts inside, but even the fastest PC available won't get a max score of 10. Even a brand new SSD only gets 7.9 because it's leaving room for newer tech.

Cpu @ 4ghz. Gpu's at 900/1200. I will try it another day with my clocks speed in my sig. I think I should get very close to the 8000 mark.

Completely unreliable imo, considering my experience with the FFXI benchmark where my old comp with a sempron 2400+ with an X1300 Pro 256MiB got the same score as my current i5 rig just makes me completely discount the scores from the benchmark. But as for my system I got 2920 at 1280x720 with my CPU constantly at around 31% from the benchmark so my GPU is holding me back but it never went lower than 30FPS so I don't know where this graphics card killer is coming from. Expect in game framerates to be completely different to anything the bench could do.

One thing I noticed was when it was loading FFXIV took up to 70% of my CPU which would indicate my third core in use? Meaning more than dual threaded for FFXIV? :D
