    hey bitekkers,

i need software to batch convert my large collection of music videos (various different codecs including .mpg .mkv. .avi. .mov) to avi so i can chuck them on USB and play them through my 7inch dvd player in my car

Could you name me some reliable (hopefully free) software

    thanks

I believe the new version of handbrake has stopped supporting avi, but if you can find an old release (i think you can find links on the handbrake site) it will do avi.

I think Avivo is available on the 4800 and 4600 serie.

FormatFactory is excellent, I use it too.
I also use Handbrake 0.9.4 to convert my Video_Ts in FFMPEG

Format Factory will convert those formats. It's free too... just be aware of the possible spyware it carries.
