Hi Looking forward to the new F1 offering, what GFX card would you recommend to play this with a good setting? I have a 8800GTX at the moment not sure it will be able to cope. Cheers Mark
i miss my 8800GTX, the thing is a beast, i wouldnt be surprised if it played it quite good What budget you got in mind
Your current card is still quite powerful, but the only downside is it's not dx11 compatible. Are you finding it struggles with any of your games? Also, what resolution is your monitor? Try and run the DiRT 2 demo to give you an estimate as to how well F1 will run with your current setup. Hope that helps a bit
Thanks for the answers guys. To be honest dont play many games, FSX C&C Grid and as sad as it sounds thats about it. I will give the Dirt2 demo a go, if not was looking at about 200-250 I guess.
My 8800GTX runs Dirt2 with ease at 1680x1050, sure you will be fine unless you are running a larger resolution.
Thats the same resolution as I run, so no need to spend the cash on that. Now the question is what to spend it on.
I am waiting for a F1 game where you can get say 20 people doing a full on race with each other, with all the setting up of the cars and qualifying. The day that comes out I will build a PC just for that game
w/ everything maxxed out @ 1680x1050, i get 45-60fps during races. I think i turned msaa down to 4x though. Not as good performance as DiRT 2 because there are 24 cars on track. I didnt look to see if there was a benchmark included like there is with DiRT 2... lemme check
omg... get Race07 with the MMG 2007 F1 mod, up to 25 cars on track, online at any time. and to the point of this thread... i have a 8800GT (overclocked but similar if not identical performance to a 8800GTX) and it plays fine on my 1680x1050 monitor - on high settings, and the game looks amazing. I can even add 8xCSAA which is always a bonus. I would say that although a GTX260 or above woudl make it even better, is it worth the extra cash for just a few FPS difference?
