I've just been on Steam, and been looking at buying COD4:MW2... It's still £40...

Then add on the extra maps etc, I'm looking at over £60 for it all. How can the price for this game STILL be so high?!

I've been having so much fun on BF:BC2 (which I paid about £16 for!) I didn't even reliase there was a second map pack released for MW2.

I said I'd go back to MW2 when I get bored of BC2, but honestly now that I'd have to pay £22 to get up to speed (more than a whole new game, FFS) I'm not so sure.

I love BC2, but it's still downloading (Batman AA is making up for that), but it's just annoying that it's still so expensive.

I'll probably end up with either Black Ops or MoH, not sure which yet.

I have had difficulties getting a proper server in MW2 the last six months, never below 70ms Ping and more often 100+ before it finds a proper server.

on top of that there is the hackers/hacked servers, against whom there seems to be cure (no admin)

If you ask me, it is not worth the £40, not any more that is.

If you don't have BF:BC2 go get that in stead :)

    Two things

    (a) it's just how it is, it's a popular FPS and they'll fondle you into giving them £60 for everything
    (b) Why do you want to buy such a weak game? invest in CoD4 or wait for CoD:BO to come out.... haha just realised the abriviation.

Modern Warfare 2 is a steamworks game.

You can buy it anywhere, and register it to your Steam account. I've seen it as low as £15 in game stores.

They can justify it because people are still paying it. I've gone over to BF:BC2 though and I'm loving the differences - server admin, choice of maps, tanks, helicopters, variety in playstyles, low pings, I could go on for ever.

The only problem was having to download it twice - once because my dvd drive is fubar and then again to patch it.

Wouldn't care to say where? I'm still waiting for a sensible price to buy it.

Otherwise I'll be waiting for Steam to have it on sale - it may happen in my lifetime :hehe: .

Just resist temptation and wait until it goes on sale. I picked up the cod pack last time it was sale and it was an 'ok' bargain.

If you pay what they ask then they will NEVER reduce prices to reasonable levels.

I wondered where I'd seen this but I forgot so sorry for taking a while to respond.

BFBC2 is £14.99 at play.com and £15 in Asda supermarkets.

They'll probably lower the price when Call of Duty: Black Ops comes out at the start of November.

I'd not count on that. CoD4 is still horrendously overpriced in many places and that's 2 games old now.
MW2 is going to be full price for as long as they can keep people on the servers I imagine.
