Heyy i currentley have a 7800GT that cant even fold. Im going to get a new GPU for Christmas, im going to use this mainly for folding but occasionally gaming. But the most gaming i do is a bit of TF2 and alot of SAMP(which doesnt need much to play). I was looking to get the MSI Cyclone GTX 460 768Mb, i aint got a clue what the PPD is could someone please tell me. Either that or a GTS 450, ive read a lot of thing about this saying its crap and awesome. My budget is around 120 quid Please Help :wallbash:
    Thx

    For 120 I'd go 460 methinks
PPD is 10-12k depending on clock from what I've found

Definitely go for a GTX 460 over a GTS 450 (I have both) especially for the latest WUs.

The Cyclone cooler is very good, the MSI is a good quality card - go for it. :D

I thought someone said graphics cards didn't need so much memory for folding - such as 1GB or 1.5GB? I went for the 768MB http://www.scan.co.uk/products/768mb-evga-gtx-460-sc-3800mhz-gddr5-gpu-763mhz-shader-clock-1526mhz-336cores-2x-dvi-mhdmi which is £33 cheaper, so I got four :naughty:

That one will be just as good, well better as it's cheaper. I forgot about it to be honest.

If the weather in N Yorks has been as bad as just south into West Yorks, you'll have more basic needs to worry about! UR forgiven (hope grammar police aren't watching) :D

Yh tht does look awesome, i may consider this one. And also i didnt mention tht my PC is on my windowsill right next to my bed so it would to v-quiet, im more bothered about having no squeal rather than fan noise. Thts y i wanted tht MSI cyclone as it apparently has "military" grade components and 0 squeal.

Good for folding (13k+ when overclocked), although not worth the extra really.
