A friend wants to build a new rig mainly for coding on Ubuntu, maybe for the odd game on Windows.

We had a look at the November 2010 Buyers Guide and settled on the affordable all-rounder.

Thing is, the MSI 770-C45 is out of stock everywhere in the UK (those nice folks at eBay have a few for £999, though!).

Was wondering if anyone had other suggestions for a different mobo? My friend isn't that bothered about this system being the latest or greatest (boring, I know!), just wants a decent desktop.

    Thanks chaps. :D

I was considering it for a new budget build, but found an alternative for £55

    Foxconn A7DA-S 3.0

It is based on an older chipset - but it can do symmetrical 8x/8x crossfire, will be more stable for your overclocks and run cooler :D
