I'm not a fan of Crysis I'll be honest. But the graphics engine... jesus. If they bunged a game like Just Cause 3 into that engine... i'd be happy forever.
Legalities, Cost, Can you imagine Call of Duty on it... you'd get so many people unable to play at top spec.
I understand the mainstream games but there are still some hardcore games that would have benefited from a crazy engine. I guess things could be different with CE3 as it's more flexible
Good luck with that, I'd be amazed if you manage to get it looking anywhere near as good as Crysis. CE3 may be better optimised, but it just doesn't look as good IMO. A few games did, but I'm guessing other engines like UE3 are much easier to work with and have lower hardware requirements.
Hard to tell really as the camera quality wasn't very good, but that was obviously the (non-DX11) leaked version of the game, so I would still expect the retail version to look better than that. It's not very impressive from a technical standpoint, however, since the environments are a fraction of the size they were in Crysis 1.
I see where you are coming from. What they should do, is give us Crysis and Warhead on Cryengine 3....Now that would be good!!

Some day I hope another company will be able to afford to use the engine and then make a good game out of it. That would be nice. Preferably an RPG or an adventure game.
