Networks how do u direct connect on AIM after networking?

This question is mainly for those who use Aol Instant Messanger i guess..

I just networked my 2 comps directly with a cross-over cable and when I try to direct connect on AIM or send files on AIM, i get the firewall error crap. How do i make it so that I can connect with others? It was fine before i networked my comps

 

Would be nice if you told us how you share the connection ics? proxy etc. Also what firewall do you use?

 

yeah ics. I'm not using any firewall

windows XP i also made sure that the networking firewall is not enabled.. but no luck

Which computer is connected directly to the internet. If it's the other computer that has the net connection, then you will need to set up port forwarding (using a firewall) to send the correct ports to your second PC. NAT DOES act as a firewall for the systems behind it.

 

yea my other comp is connected directly to the internet. How do i setup port forwarding?
