    Nice gear everyone :)

As I've already mentioned elsewhere, all my rigs are currently down due to hardware failures and are getting rebuilt in a more efficient configuration, so once that is finished over the next couple of weeks I will get some photos of them up along with the specs.

Time to show off my unashamedly ramshackle folding setup! :cooldude:

Exhibit A: My laptop - my main work/gaming/folding system. Runs SMP on a C2D 2.5GHz T9300, and GPU2 on an 8600M GT. I disable folding for gaming and graphic-intensive work, but it otherwise runs 24/7. I've also taken the keyboard off and use a small desk fan to keep it extra cool. CPU stays around 55C, GPU runs at 85-90C without the fan, and at 68C with
    [IMG]

Exhibit B: The server (on the left)- runs SMP on an Athlon II X3 400e at 2.2Ghz. Folding runs 24/7 on this, while serving up files with practically no slowdown. Thanks to the energy-efficient CPU, temps never go above 40C. Computer to the right is an old P4 system, no folding runs on that.

Exhibit C: An old Advent laptop - runs single-core client on a 1.6Ghz Turion. Has a very annoying fan, so the desk fan blows some cool air across the desk to keep its fan speed down.

Altogether, this setup generates 2200 PPD. Yes, that's all outclassed by a single high-performance graphics card, but it's still something. Next purchase is likely to be a GTS 450 for the server to really boost my output.

Nice rigs. :) I must get mine up on here soon. I'll do it once I get my next 2 rigs up and running, then I'll take an overall shot (I run a server cabinet for my folding).

    Hi All,

as I have just broke the 400k barrier thought I'd list my rig:

Folding @ Home rig type - Full time but not dedicated folder
    Make/Model/MHz of CPU(s) - AMD 955 BE @ 4Ghz
    Make & Model of GPU(s) - Gainward Nvidia GTX260
    Case & Motherboard - Antec 1200 & Asus M4A89TD Pro
    The Rig's average PPD - @8000 PPD
Operating system Used - Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit

Must say that I'm a bit dissapointed with the AMD running at 4Ghz as it only produces about 350 PPD under Win7. But my PPD may change quite a bit as I'm considering buying another graphix card - probably a GTX460 and then I'll stick the GTX260 in the other machine which should then produce another 7-7.5 PPD

That's way too low, are you running a classic client? You should be able to get about 10-fold increase using the latest SMP client - which is now much easier to setup and run than previous versions. You may have to run 24/7 (or approaching that) to meet the tight deadlines.

Folding @ Home rig type - BigAdv I
    Make/Model/MHz of CPU(s) - Intel i7 920 (hopefully @ 3.8GHz)
    Make & Model of GPU(s) - nVidia 7200 I think
    Case & Motherboard - Silverstone TJ09
Any Modifications Done - 240mm rad in the roof
    The Rig's average PPD - ~40,000 I hope
    Operating system Used - Win 7 64bit
Virtual or Native SMP(s) - Win SMP (BigAdv)
Power Consumption used - Don't know yet
Any other info to share - Still awaiting a PSU and DVD ROM drive, currently leak testing, the nasty PSU is powering the pump.

I brought the mobo and ram as I had a 920 that was displaced by a 980 and I had meant to update my main machine with it, but couldn't bear to go to all the trouble of transfering all my programs and setting from XP to Win7, so as I had all the other bits hiding behind a sofa I decided to use them, now I have another machine and nowhere to put it :duh:.

P.S. Yes that is toilet paper under the pump, there was a slight leak there and I find that the coloured water shows up really well on toilet paper :thumb:

Some of these machines are ridiculously good, and others are just ridiculous. As a human biologist working in cancer research myself, I applaud anybody who goes out of their way to fold, bravo guys.
