they look like the ones ficky pucker recommended, a bit cheaper though, how long are the light strips?

    since this is my desk

I reckon i could mount some of these light strips on the frame at the back underneath the glass and get a cool effect, with the added bonus of not sticking stuff directly onto my £400 monitor

probably not that well from what i've read here! if i mounted them to the desk (behind the bars so cannot be seen directly) would give everything a nice glow i think, the refraction from the glass may even help spread the light a bit

the ones i've got are fine, but the card reader on u2711 made attaching the left "led tube" bit harder, but it was only a matter of adding 2 more adhesive strips to the mounts (that hold the "led tube")

Put up some fairy lights. Simple, cheap and effective.

Yeah, you can get quite a variation on colours as you stop it as it fades from one colour to another.

    How they are mounted.

I've wanted to do bias lighting for a while, but didn't feel light figuring out the wireing for a cathode or something on my own, the antec solution you posted is fairly priced [imo] so I bought one.
I'll post pictures here once it's here and set up.

    Oh yes, this is great.
If you're considering getting the Antec lights, I say buy them.
Super easy, take them out of the box, peel and stick.
Or if you care more, unbox, measure, peel and stick.

    is that 24inch monitor?

Antec says recommended size is up to 24, im on a 27, so by the looks of it, i'll be missing out on a lot of the lights shine by the Antec strip. :(

    It's a 20 inch monitor.
The strip goes edge to edge on it part the sticks out.
    You could get two?
The strip of lights is approximately 16 inches long, so do what you will with that info.
I'm sure if enough people ask for it they'll make a bigger strip.
