Hey all. Obligatory introductory post.

Not much I can say, been lurking for a while and finally joined.
I'm quite a noob at all of this and hoping to learn from you all.

In my spare time I enjoy reading. I could open a library with the amount of books I have.
Listening to music (dubstep, metal, rock primarily). Have also kicked my WOW addiction after 4 years *pats on back*

Member Introduction - Cellular Peptide

I couldn't find a section of the forum specifically for member introductions, so I thought this would be as good as any place to make my first post....

My name is Steve and I live in the East Midlands UK. At present I am a unpaid volunteer ICT tutor for a well known charity that has customers over the age of fifty. In 2000 I graduated with with a BSc (Hons), I have an entry level HE teaching cert, the N+, A+, C&G ICT Practitioners Diploma and the ECDL.

I have been a subscription reader of Custom PC since 2007. The magazine is of particular interest to me because I enjoy the youthful and informative style of writing. It has been not only a fantastic source of information but a motivation for me to continue to pursue my study of the evolution of PC hardware.

At present I own three PCs':

1. AMD, running Um Bongo.
2. Intel, for MS.
3. Sammy Lady Book.

........The forth PC is on pre-order with Scan.

The main use of my PC's are:

1. ICT training.
2. Purchasing bargains.
3. Online gaming.
4. Chatting with friends in Sweden.

At present I am working towards the Server+ which I hope to use as a springboard to the MCTS (Server 2008).

In regards games, I enjoy Company of Heroes and LFD2.

Interested as I myself am back after a 6 month absence. No idea why I decided to log onto bit-tech or return to forums in general

Just joined as suddenly felt the need to refresh my PC. Not really modded anything since the original X-Box but its time for the Dremel to come back out to play .

Old E5200 @ 3.25Ghz replaced by shiny new i5 2500K @ 4.1Ghz so far (1 day in).

Hi all,im a member of (tech.spot.com)hope im not breaking any rules writing that lol.
I have alot of old p.c's i.e the very first athlon i think,socket 492 and some older intel huge cpu's,newest cpu i have is a 3.0ghz intel pentium 4 socket 775 lol.

KIND OF IN TWO MINDS ON BUYING AN AMD ATHLON 2 QUAD CORE,But have been reading about the malarky on the AM3 and AM3+ MOBO'S been compatable with Bulldozer,thinking i should wait until september or it could be even longer,anyways hope this website can shed some more light on the subject with you lads!
