Apologies for the copy and paste from my project log but... the motherboard has arrived: I do think it is funny that the big advertising leaflet that came with my LGA1155 motherboard was for AMD processors. Yeah... Including an AMD processor advertising with an Intel motherboard is like trying to sell reading glasses to a blind man. Here are both of my new toys: the Gene-Z with the i7-2600k.
Now if only I had a MARS to go with that... Then I'd be the envy of every kid at the PAX 2011 BYOC. If only there was someone that could make that happen... http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/NVIDIA_Series/MARS2DI4GD3/
people actually bought them? wow... i really want a RoG board now... with matching red/black ram and a red/black [nvidia] GPU
Yeah, I've been using it for a couple of days now and I've got no complaints. But I do have one question. For some reason my 1600 RAM is running at 1333. I'm wondering if that's a default speed. I haven't had much of a chance to tweak anything yet.
Then at least think bringing the red+black scheme to non-ROG stuff . For example P8Z68-V PRO has too much blue .
Necrothreaded!!!!! I'm looking at various different manufacturers for a mini-itx that'll be great for a DVR and my next project. If you have a suggestion, create a thread over in the Gigabyte section and I'll check it out.
Opps ! Sorry ! I'm a big fan of Asus + ROG, but my m-itx GA H55N-USB3 is sporting the i7-870 that killed my Maximus III Formula... R.I.P. And my CarPC is an i5-6xx in a Zotac m-itx 'cos it has wi-fi... for itunes to collect more stuff. dunx P.S. My P6T6 WS is nearly new so I'm waiting for the next generation for my next upgrade.
You're seriously going to put a MASSIVE gaming card into a tiny mini-ITX board? Kinda mis-matched, no? That's coming from me and I love mini-ITX (have two machines in house), but I've had to put a GTX 480 on an ITX board in a mATX case, so, kinda defeats the point..
Modded my Fractal Array HDD cage to allow any video card to fit, but have a quiet GTX 460 in mine as it'll do for 1080P video. dunx
